It Matters!June 7, 2011 Elections matter and it matters who Oregon sends to Washington, D.C. Our work in Washington is important. Last week I voted to accelerate the withdrawal of American forces from Afghanistan. It’s time to bring our brave warriors home to their families and spend that money creating jobs here at home. I have also introduced legislation to root out waste, fraud and abuse by defense contractors. My opponent in 2010 would have acted differently. I want to continue to fight for Oregon families and for the brave men and women who serve in uniform and bring jobs back to Oregon. But, the radical right wing Republicans who control the House understand too that elections matter and that’s why they are targeting me. They want puppet representatives who will vote their extremist agenda not someone like me who will stand up for us. That’s why I am writing to ask for your urgent help to kick off my rapid response fund. I need to raise $7,000 in the next five days to show the Washington Republicans our campaign has what it takes to fight back and win. Can you contribute $25, $50 or even a $100 today to help me with my Rapid Response Fund. Elections make a difference. And with your help we will continue the fight for our shared priorities here in Washington, D.C. Sincerely, Kurt Schrader P.P.S. And don’t forget about Oregon’s political contribution tax credit—Oregon law allows every personal income tax filer a $50 credit for making a political contribution. This is not a deduction, but a credit: if you donate $50 to my campaign, you’ll get $50 back from the state! (This amount is doubled for couples filing jointly--$100.) Posted on June 7, 2011.
